Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a minimum stay policy?
Yes, we require a three night minimum stay.
What are your rates?
Please email us for rates and availability.
Where do I pick up the key?
You will be picking up the key at our home outside Joseph, Oregon. Once you’ve made your reservation and sent us a deposit we will be emailing that address to you. Also at the time you pick up the key you will write a check for the balance due, sign the hold-harmless agreement, and get directions to The River House.
Is there a suggested time for picking up the key?
We ask that you try to make arrangements to pick up the key by 5:00 p.m. (or make special arrangements with us). Check-in time at The River House is 1:00.
What if you aren’t going to be available when we come to pick up our key and finalize paperwork?
Sometimes we can’t be available when you arrive. When this happens, everything will be ready for you on our covered front porch in an envelope with your name on it. Simply make out your check for the amount still owed, sign the paperwork to leave with us in the envelope, and take the key and directions and be on your way.
How far is it to Imnaha, and The River House?
When you leave Joseph plan an easy 40 minute drive on a good highway to arrive at your destination. The River House is located 3 miles upriver, or south of Imnaha, on a good gravel road.
When do we need to check out?
Check out time is 10:00 a.m. Before you leave we ask that you strip the beds and remake them with the clean sheets provided on each bed. Please wash and put away dishes, turn off lights and lock doors.
What do we do with the key when we are ready to leave?
You can either return the key to us in Joseph, or simply leave the key down at the River House, on the table.
Does the house have phone service or internet?

What is there to do once we get there?
The River House is quiet and secluded. Catch up on reading in the hammock and star watching from the porch! There is also much to see if you like bicycling, hiking, or horseback riding on roads and trails. Swim, fish or inner tube the river (bring your own tubes), enjoy tours of the Zumwalt Prairie and activities at Wallowa Lake and Joseph.
